oDesk is funded by Benchmark Capital - it seems to be trumping its competition (e.g. Elance.com)in the freelance website market. They claim to have a total of around $49,000,000 (million) earned so far from deals brokered through the website. Consultants / Freelancers post their rate and oDesk simiply adds 10% to the rate — which it retains as their fee. Some of these services also serve as organizaiton tools - time management is a critical component of success.
